Admission Requirements

Admission Criteria

Because the training programs at FFU are rigorous, all applicants for the Bachelor's Degree (including applicants for the Six-Year Bachelor of Medicine Program) must meet the required academic and personal qualification. In addition to two passport size photos and four years' transcripts, applicants must:

  • Provide proof of successful completion (with at least B average score) the Somaliland National Examinations for secondary education or its equivalent;
  • Take and pass an entrance examination developed by FFU; and
  • Go through personal interview with at least two professors, demonstrating academic and personal qualifications to engage in the demanding training at FFU.

 

Applicants for Four-Year MD Program must:

  • Provide proof of Successfully completing a Bachelor Degree or at least two years of post-secondary education including 90 semester hours each of premedical admission requirements including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Calculus and one year of advanced English.
  • Present two passport size photos, two recommendations, and official transcripts for the years of post-secondary education;
  • Take and pass an entrance examination developed by FFU; and
  • Go through personal interview with at least two professors, demonstrating academic and personal qualifications to engage in the demanding training at FFU.

 

Graduate students enrolling in the Master's Degree Program must:

  • Present Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university and official transcripts;
  • Successfully pass entrance examination developed by FFU; and
  • Present two passport size photos, two recommendations by qualified and approved individuals confirming their high academic competence and good character;
  • Take and pass an entrance examination developed by FFU; and
  • Go through personal interview with at least two professors, demonstrating academic and personal qualifications to engage in the demanding training at FFU.
